flag team

I recently join in the flag team. The flag team is formed because of the sports games of one-hundred-year anniversary which will be held in our school. We will play flag in the activity, as a result, to show our best, we have a lot of training. We train four days a week, and every time, after training, my arms are sore and hurt. It is quite tiring; however, I think that as long as we ride out the exhausting process, the result of our effort must be gorgeous. I firmly believe that we can do it. Although I feel tired and sometimes want to give up, I will persist and keep trying all I can.

Christmas

It was Christmas last Saturday. On that day, I went home and stayed with my family. We went out to have lunch that day. In the evening, I went to my elementary school to join in a Christmas party. There were children singing and dancing on stage. It also provides free food for people to enjoy. At the end of the party, a Santa Clause appeared, gave candies to everyone, and wished us Merry Christmas. Everyone beamed with joy including me. Christmas is not only celebrated in western countries but in eastern countries such as Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. Certainly, Christmas is a special festival that brings everyone joy and blessings.

COLD

COLD COLD COLD! It’s freezing outside this week. The lowest temperature is 7.9 Celsius Degree! It’s cold, however, I like this kind of weather. I can wrap myself in warm clothes and be covered in thick comforter. I feel that the weather in Taichung is much drier than Kaohsiung; as a result, I need to put moisturizing cream on my dry skin and wear a guaze mask to protect my face from being blown by the dry wind. Only when there is sunlight, it would be warmer. Although it is cold, I like the weather. I hope the cold weather can last longer.

boring life

I feel bored for an unknown reason recently. Everyday I just do the same things; every week I have the same class and the same homework to do. Days just repeat again and again in a circle. Some of my friends and classmates have this kind of feeling as I do. I think I should find more interesting things in my life or do some meaningful things instead of staying at the dorm all day or fooling around after class. I don’t want to lead the same life every day: staying at the dorm after class, eating dinner, using computer or studying, and finally going to bed. I must find something interesting or meaningful to fill my boring life!

Home

I go home frequently these weeks. Although the bus fare is not cheap but I just pay it. At home, I can watch TV and do anything I want. I don’t have to wash the clothes by myself and I can eat the delicious and nutritious meals prepared by my mom. I can sleep on my soft and comfortable bed which is different from the one in my dormitory. I won’t feel bored at home. And I feel at ease when I see the familiar scenery in my hometown. Loving to go home doesn’t mean that I am not independent. It is a sense that no one can explain that the home is really the best place for a person.

Japanese Soap Operas

I have been watching Japanese soap operas since I was a senior high school student. It is also since then that I began to develop my interest in Japan. I love Japanese soap operas for many reasons. Not only because the content is interesting but because there are many deep and profound meaning in them. Japanese soap operas usually discuss the important issues in the society of Japan such as the problems of the elderly or the political issue in Japan. So, I can learn a lot about Japanese culture, society, politics, and so on by watching the soap operas instead of watching them for fun.

Apart from it, the beautiful scenery in the setting is also attracted. It makes me relaxed and takes me away from the hustle and bustle life. I really enjoy watching them and I will keep following their steps in the future.

Vicious cyrcle

My life habits have greatly changed these weeks. I used to go to bed at about 10 or 11 o’clock when I lived at home. But after living in the dorm, I always go to bed after 12 o’clock. At first, I feel everything is good as before. I can get up early and get good vigor as before. But a few weeks later, I get tired after I get up in the morning and often feel sleepy and even nod off in class. I try to return to the normal life before but there are many reasons that make me replay the same life day after day. I have to find a solution quickly because I don’t want to be tired but concentrate in class.

Midterm Exam

Last week was midterm exam week. It is also the first big exam after I entered college. Although the school schedule shows that there is one week for midterm exam, our exam has lasted for FOUR weeks which is synonymous with a month!! One to three subjects in a week seems to be few and easy, however, the scope of each subject is so wide and complex that I have to spend a lot of time and energy on them. I realize that the exam is so different from the one in senior high school. I wasn’t well-prepared this time; as a result, I performed poor on my midterm exam, and I had to admit that I feel sad about it. However, I will keep moving forward and perform well next time.

weather

The weather in Taichung suddenly becomes cold this week. And the wind blows strongly. When I am walking in the campus, my hair is blown up and down by the strong wind. The wind even has some people's umbrellas broken. However, I like the cold weather. I will not sweat so much in winter compared to summer. Besides, it's really comfortable to be covered in warm bedquilt and sleep in such a cold day. I hope that the winter can last longer than summer. Unfortunitely, the weather has become bizarre in recent years. Winter becomes shorter and shorter and summer becomes longer and longer. Even, summer gets hotter and hotter than the past few decades. I think that it is human beings that make the climate get weird. Everyone should protect the earth because this is the only planet that humans exist in.

Expensive

I want to say that it is so expensive to take a bus in Taichung. The basic fee of taking a bus is twenty dollars which is far more expensive than in Kaohsiung. The basic fee in Kaohsiung is only ten dollars when using a student card. Also, you only have to pay ten dollars whenever you go in a bus. But in Taichung, the farther you go, the more money you have to pay. The most expensive that I have ever paid is thirty four dollars. It's even more expensive than the MRT in Kaohsiung. However, I hae no choice but to accept the truth. In one word, it's really expensive to take a bus in Taichung.

club

Before entering university, I have desired to join in kendo club. After entering university, I ultimately take part in the club. I want to join in this cllub because I like Japan so much and kendo represents Japan's cultural spirit. I regard kendo as interesting. However, after I began to practice kendo, I realize that this sport is not easy at all. I have to start from the most basic things such as foot steps and the way I hold the bamboo sword. It takes a large amount of time to practice these basic things. And one has to do a lot of training to become stronger and stronger. After I start to practice kendo, I realize that it really takes a lot of time and effort to master kendo. Maybe I can't be the best in  kendo, but I will try all I can and put all my efforts into it because I love it.

My New Life

  This is my third week of my dormitory life. And I must say that living in the dormitory is a new experience that I have never had. This is the first time that I realize the importance of my parents. When I was at my home, I can eat the delicious meals prepared by my lovely mother. When I wanted to go somewhere, my kind dad would drive his car and send me to the place where I wanted to go.
  Now, I just leave my home and live in the dormitory. I have to wash my clothes by myself, and there will not be a person preparing the meals for me. And I have to solve the problems I encountered in my daily life by myself. Sometimes, I will feel lonely because there is no one can listen to me and give me support. Fortunately, I have good roommates who are all kind to me. This makes me feel that I am not alone. When I was faced any problem, I can tell them and they weill try to help me solve the problems.
  I always relied on my parents and took what they do to me for granted. Now, I realize how tired they are and thanks them a lot. It's time for me to be independant. I firmly believe that I can lead a wonderful life in this new environment. Good luck to me!

A Letter to My Friend

Dear Anne,

  How have you been recently? I still remember how we met each other a year ago. We joined in the activity of  the World Game reporter held by our school together. Gradually,we became close to each other,and we can chat about everything without embarrassment. After knowing more about you, I regarded you as an important and special person to me from the bottom of my heart. And I must say that your words and your behavior are really different from the people I acquainted before. Maybe this is the reason why I can feel so relaxed and comfortable when being with you. We share happiness and sorrow with each other. When I was in a bad mood, It was really kind of you to listen to me and helped me to solve my problems.
  As time passed by,we are now college students and starting our new life. I study in Taichung while you are in Taipei. I learned your uneasiness about the new life from your phone call few days ago. However, we are here trying our best to realize our dreams. You don't have to worry too much because everything will be fine,and I believe you canlead a wonderful life there. 
  I miss the times we had been through,and I will keep those memories in my mind. Thanks for your companionship in high school days,and I hope that our friendship will never change.Whenever you need a listener,I will always be here. Wherever we are,let's solve the problems and keep moving forward together.I firmly believe that we can make it!
